It’s time for students to submit their application and essays for MCU’s 2012 College Scholarship Award.

At MCU, we are committed to the education of our young members. MCU will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a qualified college-bound student. Applicants will be judged on an essay submission, academic performance, and extracurricular and community activities.

Eligibility

Entrants must be:

An MCU member in good standing
Between 17 and 22 years of age
A high school student entering, or a student attending, a university, college, community college or trade school for the 2012-2013 school year.

How to Apply

To apply for the Meadows Scholarship, please submit the following by Friday, May 25, 2012*:

A completed MCU Scholarship Application
High School or College Transcripts (may be mailed under separate cover)
An essay addressing the following topic (500 words minimum, 1,000 maximum):

It's the year 2112. An archeologist discovers your iPad (or smartphone, laptop, etc.). Based upon the content in your device (emails, music, social media posts, books, etc.), what will they think about you and the young adults of 2012?

$1,000 Award

MCU will award a $1,000 Scholarship. Scholarship recipient will be announced on the MCU web site at www.mcuonline.com,and in the summer MCU newsletter.

*Meadows Credit Union employees, board members, and their immediate families are ineligible for the scholarship. Winning essay and web site become property of Meadows Credit Union and may be used for promotional purposes.
