MCU takes the security and privacy of your account
information very seriously. You should be equally careful with your information.
Here are some tips and guidelines to help give you confidence that your money is secure at MCU:
MCU will never call you asking for your account number, Online Banking User
ID, Passcode or ATM/Debit Card PIN. If we need to call you in regards to your
account, we already have that information and will not ask for it. If someone
does call and ask you for that information, DO NOT give it out.
If you call MCU with questions about your account, we will ask you some
questions in order to authenticate that it is really you on the phone.
DO NOT send account or personal information using regular email. Regular
email is not secure. If you send account numbers, address information, social
security numbers, etc. you are at risk for people stealing that information.
To email that information use the secure email feature within MCU Online Banking. Within the MCU Services area, you can send us email correspondence. This correspondence is securely held behind our firewall.
When you select a Passcode for Online Banking or PIN for your ATM card,
choose a number or combination of numbers and characters that is easy to
remember but cannot be easily found out by another person. Numbers like
your birthday, or telephone number can be easily learned and used by another
person.
If you feel someone may have found out what your PIN number is, change it
immediately. Be aware of this when using MCU’s 24-hour phone access,
MCU Online Banking or even your Debit/ATM card. Always safeguard your
PIN.
Inform us in writing if you move or change your email address. Without
current information your statements and other correspondence will be sent to
the wrong address. You should update your email address in the services
areas of MCU Online Banking.
If you ever have any security concerns or questions about your account, contact us at the number below or use our secure request form.
