getting caught in the web

Important Member Notice
New Email, Phone & Text Scams Purportedly from MCU

Recently there have been multiple email, telephone calls and text messages directed to the general public and credit union members that appear to be from Meadows Credit Union or a credit union. These fraudulent messages ask the recipient to confirm personal information, or click on a link and enter personal information, including a social security number, birth date or account number.

The fraudulent telephone calls (called “vishing”) may come from a live person or may be a pre-recorded messaging stating your credit card and/or financial institution account has been breached. You are then asked to supply pertinent financial account information, or call a phone number which leads you to a fraudulent call center where you are asked to supply account information.

These are fraudulent messages and are NOT from Meadows Credit Union, the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration) or from any other credit union. Please do not reply to any of these messages or click on any links contained in the messages.  Delete any email or text messages immediately.

If you responded to such a message, and provided any confidential account information, please notify MCU immediately
at 800-662-2772, ext. 2.
