MCU recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of personal information about our members. Personal information includes all of the personally-identifying information which you provide us. You may give us personal information when you apply for membership, request an account or service, when you use MCU Online Banking (including MCU Bill Payer) or when you send us email; MCU will never disclose any non-public personal information to anyone except as permitted by law.
Below are some Frequently Asked Questions about our Privacy Policy. If you have any questions that are not answered in this section, please contact our Privacy Policy Administrator.
In the course of applying
for products and services at MCU you will be asked to provide
personal information. Your personal information is only accessed
by MCU staff responsible for completing your request
and/or transaction. Subsequent MCU staff access
to your personal information is done to complete another request
or transaction that you authorized. Access to your personal information
could be required of MCU under applicable law. You
have free and unlimited access to any personal information about
you stored at MCU. To get access to your personal
information you can phone our Member Services department or send
a signed request through the fax or U.S. Mail indicating the personal
information you desire. You may request to change your personal information
by sending a signed request through the U.S. Mail or faxing a signed
written request. (View contact information.)
Since you are using the web you may find it easiest to communicate
with MCU via email. When you communicate to us through email,
we use your email address only for the purpose of responding to your
comments or questions. MCU does offer two mailing lists: My MCU
News and the StartPoint newsletter. Both of these lists provide members
and potential members with information about products and services
and you always have the ability to unsubscribe. To unsubscribe, you
may contact us by email, phone, fax, or mail. (View contact information.)
Your email address provided in order to join one of our mailing lists
will not be sold, nor will it be shared with others outside the credit
union, unless we are required to do so by law.
Web tracking software
You may be familiar with some websites that
use web tracking software. MCU uses web tracking
software on its website. We
collect information on the domain from which you are accessing our
site (such as aol.com or home.net), and information on which pages
you visit within our site. The information we use is not linked to
any one individual. We use this information for internal analysis
only, which helps us improve the content and navigation of our website
to better suit our members.
Online Banking server security
Our Online Banking area utilizes more
personal information than the rest of our site. Inside MCU
Online Banking we store no member
information on our web server that is accessed by the public so your
account information is held private from other people who are accessing
our website. All account information is housed on computers that
are behind our firewall (protected area). The web server only passes
information between your browser and our computers located behind
the firewall, and vice-versa. We also employ strict physical security
on the servers that hold your personal information.
When you are actually using
MCU Online Banking, all banking sessions are authenticated
and encrypted. The authentication of an MCU
Online Banking session is handled through your account number and
PIN combination, which is required at login. The PIN is the same
that is used when conducting your TIPS (automated phone response
system) transactions. You do have the ability to request a new PIN
to access MCU Online Banking and TIPS when you first use MCU
Online Banking. This feature is available to you at any time afterwards.
The encryption is accomplished by establishing a Secure Socket Layer
(SSL) connection between the browser and the web server. You can
only access MCU Online Banking with a SSL compliant browser.
You can count on the information in MCU Online Banking to be
timely and accurate. All information and transactions conducted during
normal business hours are handled on a real time, online basis. After
business hours all transactions are handled on a store and forward
basis, and will be posted to your account the next business day.
Any transactions handled when our main server is offline are held
in store and forward for posting when the server comes back online.
MCU Online Banking access time is subject to the constraints.
Online Banking cookie use
MCU uses cookies during
your MCU Online Banking session as a means of maintaining the
integrity of your session.
They are a requirement for MCU Online Banking to function properly.
It is recommended that you turn off any options warning you before
accepting cookies. Information taken will not be sold or shared with
others outside the credit union, unless we are compelled to do so
by law.
Non-MCU owned areas of the site

privacy has been violated on a partner site, then you should contact
the Privacy Policy Administrator immediately.
If you feel you privacy has been compromised
