MCU recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of personal information about our members. Personal information includes all of the personally-identifying information which you provide us. You may give us personal information when you apply for membership, request an account or service, when you use MCU Online Banking (including MCU Bill Payer) or when you send us email; MCU will never disclose any non-public personal information to anyone except as permitted by law.

Below are some Frequently Asked Questions about our Privacy Policy. If you have any questions that are not answered in this section, please contact our Privacy Policy Administrator.

Email correspondence and mailing lists
Since you are using the web you may find it easiest to communicate with MCU via email. When you communicate to us through email, we use your email address only for the purpose of responding to your comments or questions. MCU does offer two mailing lists: My MCU News and the StartPoint newsletter. Both of these lists provide members and potential members with information about products and services and you always have the ability to unsubscribe. To unsubscribe, you may contact us by email, phone, fax, or mail. (View contact information.) Your email address provided in order to join one of our mailing lists will not be sold, nor will it be shared with others outside the credit union, unless we are required to do so by law.

Online Banking server security
Our Online Banking area utilizes more personal information than the rest of our site. Inside MCU Online Banking we store no member information on our web server that is accessed by the public so your account information is held private from other people who are accessing our website. All account information is housed on computers that are behind our firewall (protected area). The web server only passes information between your browser and our computers located behind the firewall, and vice-versa. We also employ strict physical security on the servers that hold your personal information.

When you are actually using MCU Online Banking, all banking sessions are authenticated and encrypted. The authentication of an MCU Online Banking session is handled through your account number and PIN combination, which is required at login. The PIN is the same that is used when conducting your TIPS (automated phone response system) transactions. You do have the ability to request a new PIN to access MCU Online Banking and TIPS when you first use MCU Online Banking. This feature is available to you at any time afterwards. The encryption is accomplished by establishing a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection between the browser and the web server. You can only access MCU Online Banking with a SSL compliant browser.

Online Banking quality of information
You can count on the information in MCU Online Banking to be timely and accurate. All information and transactions conducted during normal business hours are handled on a real time, online basis. After business hours all transactions are handled on a store and forward basis, and will be posted to your account the next business day. Any transactions handled when our main server is offline are held in store and forward for posting when the server comes back online. MCU Online Banking access time is subject to the constraints.
